Among the initial training programs, two diplomas are most common. It is essential to understand their differences to make the right choice. The DEAES (State Diploma for Educational and Social Support) is the benchmark diploma for home care professions. Its training is long and comprehensive, lasting 9 to 24 months, depending on whether it’s full-time or a work-study program. It’s a demanding course that includes approximately 525 hours of theoretical classes and a practical internship that can reach 840 hours for full programs. This diploma provides a solid foundation and immediate recognition from the state and employers. In contrast, the ADVF (Professional Title for Family Care Assistant) is a faster alternative, more focused on practical, day-to-day skills. Its duration is about 6 to 12 months, with nearly 490 hours of theory and a minimum of 105 hours of internship. These two certifications, while not mandatory, are the business cards that will open the doors to stable employment.

To navigate your options, work with me. As a Jamacare Coordinator, I invite you to explore the training options from the AMA Network, via their AMA Campus website at ama-campus.com. Let me help you choose the certification that best suits your ambitions and situation. I will give you access to the platform that can assist you in preparing for the VAE to obtain the DEAES or ADVF. Together, we can build a training plan that matches your goals, whether they are short-term or long-term.
