Rehabilitation is not a privilege but a fundamental right. WHO reminds us it must be accessible to everyone, everywhere. Without it, only those who can afford it regain autonomy and dignity, deepening inequalities.
I am Christophe Delong, autonomy coordinator at Jamacare. I work with elderly people, children with disabilities, and vulnerable adults. In every situation, rehabilitation allows each person to continue participating in social life and maintaining autonomy. Caregivers, social workers, and autonomy coordinators are central to this universal accessibility.
Rehabilitation is therefore a universal language and a fundamental right, beyond borders and health systems.
Let’s ensure rehabilitation is recognized as a right for every person with Jamacare.
