The integration of the wheelchair (FR) into full funding by the National Health Insurance (AM), effective from December with this major reform, is a model for access to future technologies.

The optimistic scenario is that the AM sends a strong signal: if the clinical benefit is proven ( via the CNEDiMTS – National Commission for the Evaluation of Medical Devices and Health Technologies), funding will follow. This methodology ensures that technological advancements will no longer be reserved for the most affluent. I will facilitate the circulation of information about these technologies to home helpers and caregivers, without any hierarchical link, to anticipate needs.
The pessimistic scenario is administrative sluggishness in the face of innovation. The evaluation and PLV negotiation process is long. The risk is that access to the latest technologies will be slowed down. Home helpers who see the potential of these tools will need to demonstrate patience. Our coordination must inform beneficiaries about alternative funding possibilities while awaiting AM integration.
